Hello everyone.

Thank you for electing me as a committee member. I have known Par Beach for most of my life, I have relatives in Par and often came down here from Surrey to visit from the mid 60s onwards, finally realising a lifelong ambition to move down here in 1998. Remember how the beach looked all that time ago? There are family photographs of myself, brother and sister swimming in what looks like milk!!

The beach and dunes hold a huge amount of memories for me. I have seen the area cleaned up from the china clay, the dunes develop and grow and more importantly the whole area being used by all for many different activities, dog walking, kite surfing, horse riding etc., and of course just being used and enjoyed as a beach. A beach, by nature, a relatively safe one for young children to enjoy.

As a committee member I will, along with the other members of the committee, uphold the sentiments expressed in FoPB’s Constitution, ensuring the beach continues to be accessible to all members of the public together with their differing activities and a place for local people to enjoy and use as a community recreation area and focal point. I look foreword to representing members of FoPB on the committee and helping organise ‘events’ for members of FoPB and other members of the local community to enjoy.
