Kenny Barnes - Chairman
Kenny Barnes is a 56 year old (going on 25) Musician (Guitarist and keyboards), film-maker (Proper Job Films), and ex West End (JC Superstar, Chess, plus loads) singer and actor (Royal Northern College of music classically trained operatic tenor) (80's winner on TV's New Faces) who regularly sings in rock and roll bands! Therefore ideally suited as Chairman of Friends of Par Beach! Qualifications: A great sense of humour balanced with a large dose of common sense, and yet a bit of a visionary with a huge surplus of imagination and resolve!
Kenny has wife and 3 daughters 1 son and a grandson. Disabled daughter Katherine is a regular on the beach, sometimes three times a day!
"I want to ensure the beach is safe from developers, and remain more or less the same as it is with a few sensible improvements for cleanliness and disabled access and viewing points, plus an organised programme of various beach sports and activities. I also have a balanced view on conservation and green issues, but my main concern for the beach is that it is a very safe and very inviting place for families (and single people too!) to enjoy!"
