Bat Walk around Par Beach Nature Reserve with Dr Carol Williams

We are delighted to announce that we have been able to organise an Evening Bat Walk with Dr Carol Williams, an expert from the Cornwall Bat Group. Come and see the different species of bats that feed around the beach area and find out more about these often misunderstood little creatures.

Carol has been involved in bat conservation for over 20 years and carried out a PhD on the winter ecology of lesser horseshoe bats. She is a member of the Cornwall Bat Group and also the Isles of Scilly Bat Group and carries out a range of NBMP surveys each year. She is also a chartered biologist. From 2007 to 2010 Carol worked for BCT as the first Built Environment Project officer, whilst on secondment from Natural England. In July 2011 Carol returned to BCT, this time in the role of Woodland Officer. As someone who has a long-running special interest in woodlands this post brings together her two main passions of bats and trees. She carried out surveys in Prideaux and Luxulyan for a few years too and also knows Par Beach quite well as it came under her wing as an LNR when she worked for English Nature (now Natural England).
